Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has praised teammate Lisandro Martinez for the positive impact he has made at Old Trafford since his summer arrival, hailing the passion and energy he has brought to the team.
Martinez returned to training earlier this week for the first time following his World Cup triumph with Argentina. He took part in a session ahead of the Reds’ victory over Nottingham Forest and is in contention to return to action when Erik ten Hag‘s side face Wolves in the early kick-off this Saturday.
The Argentine centre-back quickly became a fan-favourite at United after signing from Ajax in the summer transfer window, with the 24-year-old making 21 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Martinez, who sat out the World Cup final and only played half an hour during Argentina’s semi-final win, has been impressive for the Reds this term and is extremely popular with his teammates.
Lindelof, appearing on United’s TeamViewer Diaries, admitted that his fellow defender has been ‘fantastic’ since arriving at Old Trafford, before discussing his importance to the team.
