Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil star Neymar has inadvertently suggested that Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho should be part of the England squad for the World Cup.
Neymar, who has scored 75 goals and registered 54 assists in 121 appearances for his country, is preparing for the upcoming tournament in Qatar, with Brazil tipped by many to lift the trophy in December.
While discussing opposing players, the PSG forward described Reds winger Sancho as an “incredible” player, despite the 22-year-old not being part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the World Cup.
During an interview with the Telegraph, Neymar was asked about England’s chances at the upcoming tournament. The Brazilian suggested that the Three Lions have a chance of lifting the trophy, but didn’t seem to be aware that Sancho was not part of the squad.
“I really forgot about England but obviously they have a chance!” Neymar said. “I really like (Harry) Kane and (Jadon) Sancho. They’re two incredible players and I have a special love for them because I like players that have their qualities
