Manchester United will consider Shola Shoretire loan offers after Erik ten Hag blocked summer exit

Manchester United will listen to loan offers for Shola Shoretire during the January transfer window. The 18-year-old is highly regarded by Erik ten Hag, but could leave on loan this month in order to gain some valuable first-team experience.

The Manchester Evening News understands that while no concrete proposals have been made for the teenager yet, United will consider any offers that come in. Any successful offer for Shoretirewould need to guarantee meaningful minutes for the youngster at a club that matches United’s own footballing philosophy.

Club sources have warned that there is no certainty he will leave on loan this month, and that it is merely a consideration as part of his development in the professional game.

Shoretire was originally earmarked as one of the academy graduates who could leave the club on loan last summer, but Ten Hag blocked him from doing so because he wanted to oversee his development.

He, along with fellow teenager Alvaro Fernandez, missed out on a place in the pre-season tour squad in anticipation of loan exits from the club. The Spanish left-back joined Preston, but the Newcastle-born forward did not leave.
