Transfer News: Manchester United are leading the race to sign Marcus Thuram on a cut-fee price in January
It is understood that the Red Devils could secure the 25-year-old’s signature for a cut-fee price of around £10.6 million due to the forwards hesitancy to sign a new deal with the German side.
The report also claims that the Frenchman is open to joining the Manchester-based club and that manager Erik ten Hag has given his men the green light to work out a deal for the forward.
United are in dire need to add reinforcements up front. After talisman Cristiano Ronaldo saw his contract get terminated in November, there is a lack of strikers in the team.
Anthony Martial is the only natural striker currently in the club and the Frenchman has struggled to stay fit this season. As such, winger Marcus Rashford has been deputising for the 27-year-old and has been leading the attack for most part of the season.
Thuram has been in terrific form for his side so far this season. The 25-year-old has scored 13 goals in 17 appearances in all competitions, including 10 goals in 15 league games so far.
