Ten Hag chases wonderkid
Manchester United have become the latest club to join the race for Sunderland prodigy Chris Rigg.
The 15-year-old, who captains England’s U16 side, is valued at around £2.5million and already has a string of high-profile admirers after impressing in the youth ranks on Wearside, according to The Sun.
Despite United’s interest, Newcastle are believed to be in pole position to land the talented teenager. Rigg, who plays in midfield, is rated as one of the best players of his age in the country and has also attracted attention from Everton.
Newcastle have recalled goalkeeper Martin Dubravka from his season-long loan at Old Trafford.
The Slovakian shot-stopper joined United in the final days of the summer transfer window but failed to make a single league appearance during his short stint in Manchester.
Dubravka did play twice for United in the Carabao Cup and was thanked for his services by the club in a statement which read: “We would like to thank Martin for his contribution during his time with our club, and wish him all the best for the future.
French giants Marseille are ready to make a move for United prospect Hannibal Mejbri as the Tunisian teenager continues to impress away from Old Trafford.
Hannibal, 19, has earned rave reviews in the Championship this year after joining Birmingham City on a season-long loan deal back in the summer. However, his performances have now attracted the attention of Marseille, who The Sun claim are now gearing up to launch a permanent swoop for the highly-rated midfield maestro.
United have been keeping a keen eye on Hannibal’s progress themselves but Marseille are poised to step up their own interest after sending one of their top talent scouts to make a personal check on the youngster last week.
