Chelsea manager Graham Potter has already made his feelings on Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo clear as the Blues are tipped to revive interest in the five-time Ballon d’Or winner following his bombshell interview with media figure Piers Morgan.
Snippets from the jaw-dropping chat continue to filter through on social media before the full-length interview is aired by TalkTV on Wednesday and Thursday night. Ronaldo slammed the club in general, Erik ten Hag, The Glazers, Gary Neville, Wayne Rooney and other key figures behind the scenes.
It has drawn shockwaves at Old Trafford and beyond and the 37-year-old might have played his last match for the Premier League giants. Chelseaand Sporting Lisbon are among the reported frontrunners as well as MLS franchises such as David Beckham-owned Inter Miami.
But would Potter welcome the Portugal captain to Stamford Bridge? He dead-batted similar talk last month after the Blues were claimed to be interested in Ronaldo this summer – but their former manager Thomas Tuchel passed on his opportunity to sign the United frontman.
Albeit in different circumstances earlier in the year, Potter did speak about Ronaldo before meeting the five-time Ballon d’Or winner during his time as Brighton manager. It came back in February when the Seagulls headed to Old Trafford for a Premier League fixture.
