Ederson has become the fastest Premier League player to rack up 150 wins in the competition, taking the record from former Manchester United star Patrice Evra.
Evra reached the tally in just 213 appearances, ever so slightly quicker than Ederson’s current and former Manchester City team-mates Kevin De Bruyne (215) and Fernandinho (216). However, the Brazil goalkeeper achieved the feat in just 197 appearances thanks to City’s victory over Leeds United on Wednesday
Rodri put Pep Guardiola’s side in front on the stroke of half-time, with Erling Haaland adding two second-half efforts. Pascal Struijk’s Leeds goal denied Ederson a clean sheet, but the former Benfica man still ended up on the winning side.
Since joining City in the summer of 2017, Ederson has barely missed a game in the league. He played a minimum of 35 times in each of his five full seasons and has been an ever-present in the 2022-23 campaign despite playing second fiddle to Alisson at international level.
He kept a clean sheet on his Premier League debut, a 2-0 win at Brighton, and ended his first season as a title winner. Further league trophies followed in 2019, 2021 and 2022, while you have to go back more than a year for the last game the Brazilian missed in the competition.
Across those 197 games, Ederson has been shown 12 yellow cards and been sent off just once. That came early on against Wolves in December 2019, with City ultimately throwing away a 2-0 lead to lose at Molineux.
