Cristiano Ronaldo insists he does not have to worry about what other people think following his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan last week.
Manchester United are considering whether or not to sack the Portuguese forward after he criticised the club of disrespect towards him while also criticising the Glazer family for not being interested in the football side of things.
United are currently looking at the possibility of taking legal action against the 37-year-old for a possible breach of contract, which could then result in his current deal being terminated.
Ronaldo has yet to appear at a press conference since he returned to United last year, and he sprung a surprise when he turned up for Portugal’s media duties on Monday.
Timing is always timing,” he said at the press conference. “From your side it is easy to look at how we can choose timings. Sometimes you write truths, sometimes you write lies. I don’t have to worry what others think. I talk when I want to. Everybody knows who I am, what I believe in.”
Portugal begin their World Cup schedule when they face Ghana on Thursday.
