Bruno Fernandes sends four-word message to Martin Dubravka after returning to Newcastle United

Newcastle United have decided to recall goalkeeper Martin Dubravka from his loan spell at Manchester United.

The 33-year-old made just two Carabao Cup appearances while at Old Trafford, and didn’t even feature in the Europa League.

We would like to thank Martin for his contribution during his time with our club, and wish him all the best for the future’, the statement said.

When the deal was completed at the end of the summer, few people would have thought the two sides would be competing against each other at the top of the table

Although he’s very unlikely to replace Nick Pope in between the sticks, Eddie Howe will be glad he’s not strengthened one of his rivals’ squads.

Erik ten Hag won’t be too worried about losing Dubravka, with Tom Heaton a very competent deputy to David De Gea.

It also opens up a loan spot for Man United if they wish to conduct any temporary business in the upcoming window.

“Hi guys, I have been recalled from loan at Manchester United and will return to Newcastle,” Dubravka said.
