Alejandro Garnacho told to sack agent amid speculation about his Manchester United future

Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker has claimed that youngster Alejandro Garnacho should consider sacking his agent amid mounting speculation about his future.

The Argentine, who appeared as a late substitute during United’s 3-2 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, is being heavily linked with a move to a plethora of big-name European clubs ahead of his contract expiring at the end of next season. Garnacho has the option of an additional year in his current deal and the Reds are determined to retain his services.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News last month, United are relaxed over Garnacho’s future and are understood to be confident of tying him down to a new deal. He has forced his way into the first-team environment in recent months and will have aspirations of becoming a regular starter in the near future.

His impressive performances in recent months have reportedly alerted several European clubs to his potential, including Spanish giants Real Madrid. But despite the pulling power and attraction of the La Liga heavyweights, former Reds ace Parker has pointed the blame at Garnacho’s agent for the ongoing speculation while questioning why the 18-year-old would even entertain the prospect of leaving Old Trafford.

“I don’t get why he would want to move away from the biggest club in the world,” Parker told wettbasis. “And why Juventus or Real Madrid?

“Juventus is in a really bad place at this moment in time, so he would arrive there to sit on the bench for a poor side. And Real Madrid, of course they are a big club but he would play even less than what he is doing at Man United.

“So these rumours make absolutely no sense and I don’t believe that it’s true. I believe that the agent is trying to push Man United to give Garnacho a big contract, so that the agent can fill his pockets with a lot of money.
