Alejandro Garnacho ‘hesitant over eight-year contract offer’ and more Manchester United transfer rumours

Alejandro Garnacho is reportedly set to be offered a club-record eight-year contract by Manchester United – although the teenager is unsure about signing it.

The 18-year-old is now a first-team regular having registered two goals and five assists in 18 senior outings. He is backed to have a promising career and is already a popular figure among the Old Trafford faithful with ‘viva Garnacho’ commonly sung during his appearances.

Garnacho set up Marcus Rashford’s derby-day winner in the 2-1 triumph over Manchester City and has made six starts overall. United are working towards a fresh deal for the Argentine, who is also attracting interest on the continent.

The Mirror reports that the Reds will try to tie the winger down to an eight-year contract – which would be the longest-ever in United history. However, those close to Garnacho are said to be hesitant about penning anything more than four years, with discussions over new wages still being ironed out.

Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have both been linked with Garnacho, although United are very confident the youngster will stay in Manchester with 18 months left on his current deal. The report states the attacker wis set to be handed wages of around £32,000-a-week, slightly down on the £40,000 his agents had been pushing for.
